  • Healthengine’s COVID-19 search by vaccine type, now features Moderna (Spikevax) with Pfizer (Comirnaty) and AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria)
  • Pharmacies now offer COVID-19 vaccination bookings on Heathengine with more to join in coming weeks
  • Healthengine’s Patient Appointment Management System (PAMS) available to pharmacies of all sizes to support COVID-19 vaccination rollout and other health appointments

As updates to the COVID-19 vaccination rollout continue, Healthengine has launched a Moderna (Spikevax) search as community pharmacies join the consumer healthcare platform to offer online bookings. The new search feature adds Moderna as an option with Pfizer and AstraZeneca to help people find appointments for the vaccination they prefer and need. In the coming weeks, Healthengine will onboard large franchise and independent community pharmacy store locations onto the Healthengine marketplace to offer COVID-19 vaccinations.

With COVID-19 as the catalyst, this marks the introduction of community pharmacies on the Healthengine marketplace to offer bookings, joining GPs and state-run vaccination clinics to support the vaccination rollout and increase access to COVID jabs.

For pharmacies looking to support their COVID-19 vaccination effort with online bookings, Healthengine offers the Patient Appointment Management System (PAMS), as well as the new opportunity to offer bookings on the Healthengine marketplace, which provides exposure to more than 3.6 million consumer users. The PAMS solution is open to pharmacies of all sizes – from independent to enterprise. It provides the latest digital health technology to support online bookings, scheduling and voucher management and other health appointment types beyond COVID-19 jabs.

A recent survey for the Healthengine and Australian Patients Association’s Australian Healthcare Index report found that 34% of unvaccinated adults were waiting for a vaccine other than Pfizer and/or AstraZeneca to be available. The report will be released in October. Moderna’s availability through community pharmacies may be the answer to address vaccine hesitancy.

“At this critical time, we want to help provide more access points to assist with Australia’s COVID vaccination effort and help people find the COVID vaccination they need so we can help reach our national vaccine targets. With the addition of community pharmacies to Healthengine’s COVID- vaccination directory of GP and state-run clinics, we’re helping pharmacies reach more people looking to secure their COVID-19 vaccinations and now get access to Moderna,” said Dr Marcus Tan, Healthengine CEO, co-founder and medical director.
